Deep-sea Fishing
With our sportfishing roots, we have the luxury
of working with only the best boats, highest-quality
equipment and most experienced captains. Our
waters teem with marlin, yellowfin and big-eye
tuna, dorado (mahi mahi) and, of course, record-breaking
sailfish. Whether you’re a deep-sea
veteran or out to catch your first billfish,
this is top-notch excitement.
Diving
According to Lonely Planet, Playa del Coco
has “the best scuba diving in Costa
Rica.” It’s true; few destinations
boast more marine animals and variety of species
than the Gulf of Papagayo off northern Guanacaste.
And the marine life here is BIG, with giant
leatherbacks and bull sharks both weighing
in at up to two tons, for starters. Huge schools
of fish give divers a chance to glide into
“walls” of fish, including large
pelagics.
 |
Dive sites include Catalinas (with spectacular
pinnacles and mantas schooling in the hundreds),
Bat Islands (world-class “big animal
action”) for advanced divers only, Escorpiones
(a well-visited stop for green, olive Ridley
and giant leatherback turtles), Corridas (for
frog fish enthusiasts), Bajo Tiburones (with
a cave sheltering baby nurse sharks), Monkey
Head (with schools of spotted eagle rays)
and many more. With so many unforgettable
sites to choose from, this is diving like
you’ve never seen, whether you’re
a beginner, intermediate or advanced diver.
Sailing
Set sail aboard the Don Basco, a gorgeous
65-foot luxury motorsailer built by the French
as a gift to Spain. Indulge yourself in a
spectacular sunset cruise including wine and
appetizers, or sail on a day trip to a secluded
beach, where you’ll enjoy a chef-prepared
lunch in paradise.
Surfing
Surf is definitely up, dude, with nearby Witch’s
Rock and Potrero Grande offering the best
surfing in Costa Rica. Our area is the best
and most affordable departure point for these
world-class surfing spots. We’ll be
happy to arrange lessons or a boat ride out
to the rock for you.
Windsurfing
World-class windsurfing can be had on beautiful
Lake Arenal, at the foot of the highly active
Arenal Volcano. Lonely Planet ranks this the
“second-best place to windsurf in the
world.” Check it out for yourself!
